Industry Giants
I'd like to invite those who live in or around the Dallas area, to come and check out the Industry Giants symposium on June 5th and 6th. Among other things, I am scheduled to give a presentation where I'll discuss the making of Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. I promise to show lots of never-before-seen gameplay footage.

I attended the presentation at Industry Giants today and I must say I haven't seen a game animated so beautifully since Space Ace! The footage that was shown was amazingly smooth and fluid. Michel kept telling us to excuse the low quality movie clip but man it looked amazing in action on low quality I can't wait to see it in full HD! As we watched the actual gameplay footage it looked like an animated cartoon but you actually got to fly the spaceship. The normal game standard HUDS where also no where to be found to help keep with the immersion. We saw a clip of the space ship fighting a monster and it was huge, then Michel told us that it was just the mid-Boss! The music was just as amazing as the animation and helped the overal epic feel of the game. I am picking this up as soon as it is released!

Michel's demo of Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet at Industry Giants 2009 left me speechless! Best looking game I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.
He kept talking about how "epic" the boss battles were, then showed us a clip of the end boss for the first level. At first, I was a little disappointed... nothing I hadn't seen before, just shooting at the boss while dodging and shooting some other little guys. Then "phase 2" started, and my jaw dropped; "epic" really was the right word. If the rest of the game is half this good, it's going to be hard to wait!
While I'm hopeful regarding the potential deal with Microsoft, I hope this doesn't get locked into an XBOX- or PC-only release. I'm really, really hoping to play this on my Playstation 3.
I attended your presentation on Saturday. I was really impressed. Art Style was really neat, the animation looked very solid. I would love to play that game ASAP. Also, the music choice was really good. It went together very well with the game. Can't wait!
What we saw from Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet at Industry Giants this weekend was absolutely AMAZING! The combination of art and game play makes this game a masterpiece! I can't wait until it is released!
I also attended Industry Giants 2009 and saw his demo. This is an incredible looking game with such a fresh look. I'm so excited to see
something that takes us all back to our Nintendo years while still being innovative. What really impressed me was Gagne's tenacity and perfectionism. He refused anything less than superb animations and quality images. I can't wait!
When Michel said that he was making a side scrolling video game I was instantly reminded of some of my favorite games from when I wa a kid. All the way back to AstroBlitz on teh Commodore 64. My all time favorite of which was Darius Twin - a GIANT 3 screen arcade game.
This took Darius Twin and made it look like Pong. All the energy and excitement of all this stuff coming at you which made the gameplay fun was doubled by the visual excellence of Michel's art direction.
Guitar Hero showed us how changing the paradigm of gameplay can make a smash success without focusing on next gen graphics. This game delivers us a mode of gameplay not seen for several years, and now updated with multiple control axis (move ship and aim weapon) as well as more options than just move and shoot. It looks like you have some puzzles to solve and finding multiple tools instead of just a gun.
All in all, I CAN"T WAIT TO PLAY THIS GAME!!!!
The game looked incredible! Loved the style, loved the music. I could spend hours playing this game for sure.
After seeing the presentation at Industry giants, I can't wait to buy and play this game! A lot of games' art styles seem cheesy because they try and fail to recreate the real world. The genius of ITSP is the stylization and the creation of a totally unique world. The whole game seemed to have a dark, unseated feel to it, like at any given moment something might jump out from the shadows. Keep up the amazing work!
I was introduced to this game at Industry Giants 2009, and was extremely impressed at the beauty and creativity of the game I was watching. It is a perfect hybrid of an old style side scrolling game with up to date awesome graphics and physic engine capabilities. As an artist I can say this is one of the most interestingly awesome designs I have seen in the gaming world so far, and hopes to see more like it in the gaming world afterwards. I feel that once I play this game I will undoubtedly die horrendous amounts simply due to being too awed and amazed at the beauty of the visuals. I only hope (and wish) that a demo will be released soon so as to appease my desire to see more of ITSP and its universe. I will be waiting anxiously to obtain one ITSP as soon as it comes out and spend all my off time soaking in the fantastic visuals while (hopefully) mastering its gameplay.
I just saw the trailer on Kotaku, and I couldn't help but think "Wow that game is something I really, really would love to play." I hope ou get a great financial partner so that you can release this game! You might want to look into contacting Valve, since it'd probably do very well over the Steam Distribution Service.
